Ideas slowly churning

So I am a lazy git that hasn't done any of the work he has promised, but I doubt there is anybody out there that is actually waiting for something from me. Still, it is late at night and I want to make a post--maybe as a way of forcing myself to do something. So my brother was watching an episode of the old Spider-man cartoon "I really hate clones" was the title, if I remember correctly, and he brought up an interesting question: are there any more Spider-man clones like Ben Reilly? Is there maybe a clone or two that beat the odds and had the same genetic quirks that allowed Ben to stay whole and functioning for so long? If so then what is he/they like? Do they have spider powers? Do they live in New York? Are they even awake, or are they still in one of the Jackal's stasis pods? What would happen if they were to wake up into the world of today, which is a very different place from the day they were cloned from Peter Parker. Would they side with Iron Man and the guys who registered, or would they go rogue like Pete and hang the rules?

I am actually a little excited about all of this and I want to work on something involving another clone; one that is free from the stigma of the massive waste that was the Clone Saga. There was a neat story in there, it just got lost under the need/greed for money that Marvel had at the time. Competing with the "Death of Superman" is pretty tough. So what happens when this new clone is woken up? Is he alone? What would Peter make of another copy of himself? What happens when this one knows that he isn't the real deal? Does he even have Peter Parker's memories, or is he a blank slate? Will he wear a costume and take on his own persona? Will he inherit the role of the Scarlet Spider? Oh so many questions, now if only I take the time to answer them.

Why did you take all of your work down?

Didn't like it any more, felt that it was not very good but didn't have the interest in going back and fixing it. I really should start writing again, but I have been missing inspiration for a while now.

On a more pleasant note, how has life been?

That's no good. When was the last time you wrote?

Decent, kind of. My grandfather passed away a little over two weeks ago so I haven't been up to doing much.

How about you?

Nothing serious or long term since I finished the last one--pretty much the stuff I took down. I just haven't had the urge to write and that worries the hell out of me.

Had a death in the family over here too: My Grandmother, about a month and a half ago. But I have had a girlfriend for almost three months now (and have known her for six) so that is good.

That's understandable. I've gone almost 7 months without having the urge to write (a few years back) and it terrified me. Sometimes you just need a break :)

I'm sorry about your loss. However, that is good news about the girlfriend!
